Idiomatic: Today I went outside, and it was raining so hard, I thought it was raining cats and dogs. I then thought to go get a jacket because that was the smart thing to do.

Insipid: Today was boring. All day i just sat around and watched tv. I was even thinking about just laying in bed the whole day but i thought it would be best to just go watch tv.

Jargon: It seemed like nothing worked today. I went to work on this woman's microwave, but I couldn't figure out what was wrong. I knew i had to connect the magnitron tube to get the radiation heat to work, but i couln't get it right.

Learned: I have had a swell day. The specific specifications of the process have gone over farely well.

Literal: Today my mom was straight forward with me. It made me sort of upset. She told me to take out the trash and put it in the bin and then clean up my room.
